Holiday Health: Happy Holiday Tips

Holiday Health: Stay healthy during the holidays

The holidays can be rough on your checkbook and waistline.

I mean the countless dinners, family get-togethers, and libations multiplied by always being on the go can really derail your health program. Although it can feel almost impossible to stay on top of your fitness and nutrition, here are 4 rules for keeping weight off during the holidays – holiday health at its finest!

Holiday Health

1. Indulge but don’t overindulge.

When you are sitting at your grandmother’s for the multiple family get-togethers during the holiday season, enjoy some of the things you like.

That being said, the rest of your plate should be veggies, eat so many of them that you aren’t hungry for other things!

Keep up the weight lifting, you can’t neglect it. It will help burn a ton of those calories you are consuming! Seriously, just try to get in at least 3 workouts during the holidays to help you at least maintain the physique you have! You don’t want to regress!

3. Cut out sodas and other high-calorie beverages.

These things are just empty calories that don’t make you feel full; they just add to the waistline.

Cut back their consumption by at least 50%. I know the office party is a lot of fun but cutting back on sodas and alcoholic beverages will help you get through the party without crushing a ton of calories!

4. Get active with friends and family

Trust me, I know it’s hard to get outside when it’s below freezing. Convince your spouse, cousin, kids, or any friends to go for a hike together.

When engaged with other people not only will you get up and active, but you will stay active longer! Not only that but you can take your dog out for a need run.

Wrap-Up

Trust us, holiday health isn’t that complicated!

It all boils down to moderation and staying active and you will make it through the holidays!

Implement these 4 easy tips throughout the holidays and into your normal lifestyle and you won’t gain that winter weight. It really is that simple!
