How to Boost Your Energy Naturally

Let’s Do This: How To Boost Your Energy

‘How to boost your energy naturally’ is a topic we commonly get and for good reason. Life is incredibly hectic and that usually means running on empty for the majority of your day. Our author breaks down some good tips on how to boost your energy and get you back in the game!

Get the pep back in your step

Life often seems like a rollercoaster of emotions, bad days, good days, and a ton of to-dos. Living it always on the run can lead to energy levels falling straight into the red zone. When that happens, we tend to reach the nearest coffee machine, and we are all guilty of that crime.

The goal justifies the means, right?

It would be, though, if the goal of boosting our energy is achieved with a cup of coffee. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. What do we do then? Allow ourselves to end up burned-out, get in bed and wait for better days. That is actually the worst thing to do.

Resting is sometimes the worst enemy of energy, trust me, I have been there. Do you know that feeling of tiredness and powerlessness after a “power nap”?

Right Sleeping Positions

It is hard to tell how many mornings did I spend complaining about the stiffness of the neck and lower back pain. Surely, you have had such days, too. The main cause of that is the way you sleep. Getting your 8 hours dose of sleep is not the only thing that will keep you relaxed – it is not all about the quantity, but the quality.

The first question that should be on your mind when you get in bed is “Are there any empty spaces between my body and the bed”. Empty spaces lead your body to settle in an unnatural position.

So place a pillow or a cover in between your knees and use a quality pillow that follows the shape of your neck.

Also, remember that your mattress should adapt to your body, so it must not be too hard or too soft. The same goes for the pillow.

Aromatherapy + Hot Bath

The world of aromatherapy has long been known to us as the world of relaxation. This therapy can affect not only your body but your mind too.

Depending on the combination of oils that are used in the session, aromatherapy can address and relieve stress, headaches, digestion, skin issues, and other physical and mental problems.

By combining aromatherapy with a hot bath, you will end up with twofold benefits. A warm bath has indisputable relaxing benefits, but it is also a great way to induce sleep, address headaches, relieve joint pain, and lower blood pressure.

Self-Massage

No one says “no” to a relaxing massage. When there is no one else to do it for you, you should not wait for your daily dose of this pleasant action, because you will need its benefits. A massage can improve circulation, relax muscles, stimulate the flow of lymph (body’s natural defense system), reduce cramping, increase joint flexibility, release endorphins, etc.

So, get your fingers ready for a self-applied massage.

You can massage your feet and the effects will spread throughout the body, your hands and fingers (this is a technique that you can use anyplace, anytime), and your ears to increase the blood flow.

Stretching, Yoga, and Deep Breathing

I can say, without any doubt, that yoga is the greatest stress reliever there is. Practicing yoga in nature will only improve the results. The best thing is that you do not even have to be very skillful, it is all about finding your inner peace.

During my yoga practice in Living Valley Springs spiritual retreat (Queensland), I have learned so much about the importance of deep breathing. It is proven that deep breathing can reduce anxiety and stress, increase energy levels, relax muscles and stabilize blood pressure.

Stretching is also a great way to get your blood flowing and induce some energy instantly.

It will increase your muscle flexibility which will, consequently improve your range of motion and have a positive impact on physical activity.

Nutrition and Hydration

Your diet remains the most important thing for your health and energy levels. Choose it wisely, and you will get the necessary boost. Sugar and coffee are always a bad idea. You can eat your way to energy with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and herbs.

Some of the best foods to consume are eggs, edamame, whole-grain cereal, all kinds of nuts, quinoa, pumpkin seeds, and goji berries.

Since fatigue is a common indicator of dehydration, water intake is also crucial. Make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water per day, and even more if you are engaging in vigorous physical activities.

Wrap-Up

Take control over your life and do not allow for stressors and daily chores to get the better of you.

Use these tips to energize yourself and come out as a winner and know exactly how to boost your energy.
