Motivate Others: We are all in this together
I’m constantly talking about ways to get motivated and stay motivated in order to get sustainable nutrition and fitness results. It truly is important to implement steps to keep yourself motivated as you move towards your fitness goals. It is also our duty as fitness conscientious individuals to motivate others not only in fitness but also throughout life. A few words of encouragement can go a long way.
“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing. That’s why we recommend it daily” – Zig Ziglar
Motivate others and motivate yourself
We’ve all been there, feeling a little down like the deck is stacked against us. Things are looking bleak until out of nowhere someone says something kind and the fog clears. It’s amazing how small of a gesture this can be but it makes your day instantly better.
Some simple ways to motivate others are simply listening to their problems and trying to help them out in any way possible. If they need help figuring out their exercise plan, help them out!
Listening can go a very long way. Another way to motivate others is to dream with them. By this I mean to say something like, “Wouldn’t it be awesome if you finished in the top 10% in your next marathon?”
Things like that provide instant motivation because it pushes people to dream of being the best they can possibly be and gives them an idea of where they can be if they just keep going!
Lastly, you can greatly encourage someone by telling them or showing them a motivational quote. The power of the written word is amazing and can go a long way.
I do this for myself in fact, if I’m struggling I look at some of my favorite motivational quotes and it keeps me going! For instance:
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” – Wayne Gretzky
“You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.” – Christopher Columbus
Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. – Johann Wolfgang von Geothe
“Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears.” – Les Brown
“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” – Confucius
Wrap-Up
Quotes like that go really far to motivate others. If you see someone who is down, pick them up. Encourage someone, there is power in helping others.
Encourage someone, it will get paid forward.
Encourage someone, just for the sake of helping someone. Encourage someone, because it is the right thing to do. We owe it to them and we owe it to ourselves to be human and lend a helping hand!
As Booker T. Washington said,
If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.
