And one of the best ways to include healthy food in your diet is through salads.

1. Syrian summer salad with lemon, garlic, and mint

Required ingredients

  • Freshly chopped Romaine
  • Chopped tomato (1-2)
  • Thinly sliced carrot (1)
  • Diced bell pepper-red (1)
  • Finely sliced white radish (1-2)
  • Freshly peeled cucumber (1)

  • Mix all the ingredients with your hands in a large salad bowl (except Za’atar, peppercorns, and salt).
  • While using olive oil, ensure to place it around the edge of the salad so that the ingredients in the bowl are tossed evenly.
  • After evenly tossing the salad, sprinkle the required amount of finely ground peppercorns and sea salt as per your taste.

2. Watermelon and tomato salad with feta dressing

  • In a large salad bowl mix olive oil, sugar, spring onions, tomatoes, and herbs with lemon zest or lemon juice and let it sit for a couple of hours.
  • Boil shrimp on low heat for 3-5 minutes until the shrimps turn pink.
  • Drain and peel the shrimp to de-vein it.
  • Fill the salad bowl with boiled shrimp and let it marinate for a couple of hours in the refrigerator.
