From a practicality standpoint, the beddit is incredibly easy to set up. Basically, all you do is take the sheet off your bed, find roughly where your chest is on the mattress when you are sleeping, and then put down the beddit.
To put the beddit on the mattress, simply peel back the plastic from the adhesive side of the beddit and place it on the mattress to where the beddit module hangs off the side of the bed (you can actually purchase more tape so you can move it to a new mattress later on).
This might be the hardest part just making sure it’s relatively straight and firmly attached to your mattress. Then plug it in with the converter, put the sheets back on the bed, and it’s installed.
Now you might be asking yourself, “Well, won’t that be uncomfortable to sleep on?” The simple answer is: Nope!
I honestly haven’t even noticed the beddit was there – like nothing so far.
Obviously, if you run your hand over your mattress you will feel but when you are lying down it’s unnoticeable. Plus, other sleep tracking devices are wearable and can get caught on blankets/pillows and interrupt your sleep.
I occasionally have this problem with my Fitbit so I think a sleep tracker shouldn’t be wearable so it doesn’t intrude on a great night’s sleep!
You also might be asking yourself, “What about if I sleep with a partner?” Well, you both can have a beddit – one on each side. The sensor strip only reaches the middle of the bed, so it stays on your respective side of the bed!
The next step is to simply download the beddit app from the Google Play or AppStore on your device (compatible with iPhone 4s and up and many Android devices – make sure your device is compatible by checking out www.beddit.com), turn on your Bluetooth, and follow the simple instructions and you are all set up!
Ease of Use
From installing the smart strip to downloading the app, the beddit device is simple to use. You input your statistics (height, weight, age…etc.) and you are ready to go. When you are ready for sleep you simply hit “Sleep” (make sure the microphone is enabled so it can hear if you are snoring), set your alarm, and drift off to sleep.
When you wake up, hit the “I’m Up” button and wait for it to quickly analyze how you slept!
This is where it gets awesome and makes this the best sleep tracker out there. You get an incredible plethora of information when it comes to how you slept that is pretty cool.
It gives you a sleep score, sleeping percentage, sleep cycles, breathes per minute, heart rate, how much you snored, how deep your sleep was…etc. and on top of that, it gives you tips on how to improve your sleep!
So when it comes down to it, the beddit not only tells you exactly how you slept but it tells you how to improve on it so you can get a better sleep score and thus better quality sleeps the next night! Plus, you can set a “smart” alarm that will go off at a “light point” of your sleep cycle so you wake up the most refreshed!
