In addition to repairing and rebuilding muscle tissue after your workout, this smoothie combination offers blueberries, which are a low glycemic fruit, that will not spike your blood sugar leaving you tired later. Also, spinach provides magnesium which helps muscles recover and lower the elevated cortisol levels of exercise. Makes 2 smoothie servings.

Muscle Recovery Smoothie Ingredients

  • ¾ cup frozen blueberries
  • ¾ cup coconut water
  • 1 scoop plant protein powder
  • 1 handful baby spinach
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon maca powder
  • a sprinkle cinnamon
  • stevia, to taste
  • ice, (optional)

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender.
