Home Fitness Why Are Total Gyms Gaining Popularity

Improve Home Fitness With a Total Gym

When it comes to home fitness, multi-option gyms, also known as home gyms or total gyms are multi-functional gyms built into one machine. They target almost every muscle group and can be used for multiple fitness goals, from weight loss to muscle gain. It’s no wonder they’re gaining popularity. With so many benefits, I’m sold! Here are just a few reasons why…

Why should you get your home fitness on?

No monthly financial commitment

Remember the scene in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. when Chandler can’t quit the gym? It’s a more common story than it sounds. Not because your yoga instructor takes your willpower, but because once you’ve started paying for the gym, you’re usually stuck in a contract until the end of the year.

It’s not flexible and, if you’re only going once a week, it’s just not worth it!

You can workout from the comfort of your own home

You choose the tunes, the TV program, and the temperature! Heck, you don’t even have to get the motivation to leave the house, walk to the car in the rain, or shower in the less than pretty showers at the gym – win!

You can work out whenever you want

Home Fitness Why Are Total Gyms Gaining Popularity10 pm sweat session? Sure. 4 am “can’t sleep and might as well do something productive”. What’s stopping you? There’s no turning up to find out the gym shuts early on a Sunday, your own personal gym is open 24/7.

You can workout wherever you want

In theory… although I probably wouldn’t recommend trying to take your multi-gym to the park with you. But this is a lifesaver if you’re a mom! Get your gym on in the lounge where you can watch over the little ones at the same time, or use it as an escape. If you have an office or a spare room, try setting it up like your own little gym that will make you feel motivated as soon as you step inside.

You don’t have to wait your turn to get on a machine

Forget peak times, with a home gym you choose the time that suits you best. Unless you’re sharing it with your partner, in which case you’ll just have to fight it out!

You don’t have to wipe some strangers sweat off a seat before you use it

Because… eww! If that’s not enough to put you off going to the gym forever, then I don’t know what is!

You don’t have to worry about people watching or judging you

No need to worry about whether your sweat pants match your top or if your hair is in a perfect ponytail. Don’t fret about whether the massive guys on the free weights are judging your chicken legs. And DEFINITELY don’t feel bad when you’ve well and truly exhausted yourself and have to lie on the floor for about 10 minutes afterward.

You can avoid the winter weight gain

People start to gain pounds during winter for two reasons: lack of motivation and mince pies. While only you can do anything about the pies, with an at-home gym, whether it’s cold, or dark, or you’re just really tired, there’s at least one less excuse for you to miss that workout!

You can focus on posture as well as pounds

With daily activities like desk work and driving as the norm, it’s no surprise that many people have a less than perfect, forward-tilting posture. Trying to do any kind of exercise with this type of posture increases the risk of injury to muscles and connective tissues.

Total gyms are well set up to get you on your way to improving this! They have a varied angular resistance, allowing you to stretch and strengthen the correct muscles to achieve a more neutral, pain-free posture!

It can help you reduce stress

Physical activity is proven to reduce stress, a condition that affects 7 out of 10 adults daily in the U.S. according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America. The problem is, going to the gym or out for a run can sometimes feel more stressful than those endorphins can really combat. Give your mental health a chance and take at least some of the stress out of your day by exercising at home.

You can work out however you want

Take advantage of their versatility and do your whole workout from one piece of equipment in whichever way you choose! They all vary slightly, such as the neatly folding total gym xls that takes a 400-pound capacity, so make sure to choose one that meets all your fitness needs!

You can save big

With a price range as wide as their uses, you can spend anything from hundreds of dollars as a beginner to thousands of dollars as a fitness pro!

Wrap-Up

It’s simple, a total gym or multi-option gym can be a great home fitness answer…
